McGuinty Government Takes Steps to Streamline Process for Developing New Accessibility Standards Under the AODA

BUT WILL THIS COUNCIL HAVE NEW ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS TO DEVELOP?

As a positive step, on October 31, 2012 the McGuinty Government announced a new streamlined process for developing new accessibility standards, and for reviewing existing accessibility standards under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. It has decided to consolidate all this activity in the hands of one permanent body, the Accessibility Standards Advisory Council (ASAC). ASAC is established under section 31 of the AODA.
