I Couldn’t Imagine Living Anywhere Else: West Lincoln Community Helps Family Get Wheelchair Accessible Van

Smithville has rallied around a local mother, who was raising funds to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van for her daughter.

Laura Davis’s 30-year-old daughter Alyssa has cerebral palsy and, as a result, is nonverbal, and uses an electric wheelchair.

Lack of Quality Jobs, Stereotyping Reason for 20% Pay Gap for People With Disabilities, Advocate Says

New data from Statistics Canada shows that people with disabilities across the country were paid 21.4 per cent less than those without disabilities in 2019, but a Waterloo Region advocate offers insight as to why this might be.

United Airlines Will Soon Let Disabled Passengers Choose Flights Based on Wheelchair Accessibility

The airline also agreed to refund the fare difference if a passenger has to take a more expensive flight to accommodate their wheelchair
