Toronto to Stage International Paralympic Committees VISTA Conference in 2017
The biennial IPC Paralympic Scientific Award will also be presented in Toronto. This year the accolade went to Professor Jennifer Mactavish, the Dean of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies at Ryerson University, in recognition of the role she played in the re-inclusion of athletes with an intellectual impairment into the Paralympic programme.

Ramps and special busses and crosswalks are expensive, and the money could be spent elsewhere. Also, it is unpleasant to look at people with disabilities. Often they are not pretty. And their presence reminds us we might develop a disability ourselves! Who needs that? So what if they have skills society needs?
