AODA and Small Business: Severe Penalties for Lack of Accessibility for the Disabled
AODA stands for the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. Many business owners are unaware of the law that requires the filing of a compliance report. They are also unaware of the onerous penalty for non-compliance.

County of Brant Seeks Comments on “Subsidized Transportation Program!” April Fool’s Day in May
On April 19, in the agenda for the Accessibility Advisory Committee meeting for April 23, an inaccessible PDF document called a “Draft” for a new variant of the “subsidized transportation program” was attached and did contain language that did suggest that comments were welcome. There was no deadline for comments in the document or the agenda.

Apparently the “deadline” was April 23 although this is not clear since any communication to be sent to the AAC has to be in by 11 AM the Thursday before

The Ontario Government has announced a new construction project in response to criticism it has failed to adequately implement and enforce AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005).
