National Federation of the Blind and Amazon Join Forces to Improve Accessible Reading Experiences for Blind and Low-Vision Students

The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) and Amazon announced today that they will be working together to increase selection, enhance accessibility, and improve reading experiences for blind students, including those who have low vision or who are deaf-blind.

Governmental Entities Should Identify and Remove Potential ADA Accessibility Barriers on their Websites

Governmental entities need to be wary of law firms claiming to represent unidentified web users who allege that the entitys website violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) because of accessibility barriers for visually challenged web users. Generally, these attorneys will identify specific barriers
that they claim violate ADA standards, encourage the entity to take remedial measures, and of course pay the law firm to avoid litigation, including attorney fees and costs.

A.G. Schneiderman Secures Broad Agreement To Ensure Accessibility For People With Disabilities At New Yorks Largest Shopping Malls

NEW YORK Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced an agreement with Pyramid Management Group LLC, the largest privately owned shopping center owner and developer in the Northeast, to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided equal access to the indoor and outdoor common areas at its twelve shopping malls in New York.
