City Launches New Resources at City Facilities for Hearing-Impaired Community-St. Catharines
A pilot program was launched today at City recreational facilities and parks to improve communication resources for the hearing-impaired community.
New signage depicting the American Sign Language (ASL) alphabet and common language and phrases is being installed at the entrances of select City recreational
facilities and parks to improve communication between deaf and hearing residents in public spaces.
Man Unable to Walk Shovels Snow to Raise Awareness About Accessibility
A Wisconsin man said he is frustrated by how others won’t meet their obligation to clear sidewalks after it snows.
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, Milwaukee resident Matt Felton, who is a wheelchair user, spent part of the day clearing snow and ice off of sidewalks.
Senator Markey Calls on Elon Musk to Reinstate Twitter’s Accessibility Team
After several rounds of layoffs, Twitter’s staff is down from about 7,500 employees to less than 2,000 â and one of the numerous cuts across the company eliminated the platform’s entire accessibility team last year.
Disability Activist Felt ‘Dehumanised’ After No 10 Downing Street Ramp Failure
Sam Jennings, 44, was invited to Downing Street after campaigning for rail accessibility improvements.
“If you can’t get the culture right at Downing Street, then what chance or hope have we even got?,” she said.
