As we at this newspaper, People Today, embark on the road ahead, we will work hard to offer a solid, credible and loud voice to the Canadian community of persons with disabilities. We hope that businesses, churches, organizations and - most of all - advocacy groups for the disabled community, would sign on and help us do this job with dignity, integrity, and success.

People Today wants to make a difference as a voice of good conscience in our society. We believe that the time has come for a solid voice to circulate throughout Ontario and all of Canada, advocating and showcasing the community of persons with disabilities.

This newspaper will reach the corridors of power - City Halls across the province, provincial and federal Parliaments, business organizations, government agencies and other relevant groups. As a society we have to stop dealing with the community of disabled persons behind closed doors. The time has come for the community to integrate publicly with the rest of society. Society at large has a lot to learn from people who are disabled in any one area.

The world today is home to 650 million persons with disabilities. And that population is growing as the overall world population increases, especially among the seniors community. So taking care of the rights of persons who face extraordinary daily challenges becomes a top priority. Canada is home to nearly one million persons with disabilities. And this vibrant community has no ready access to a media voice.

Let us reach out as one people, one human family, and embrace the full glory of every human being, every Canadian. Support People Today as we embark on the journey to offer a public voice to the community of persons with disabilities in Canada.
